I just found your reply, yes Joseph is the father, however I still have not found anything new about him.
This is the first time I have been back to my posting.

I don't know why Joseph is so hard to find, being he had so many children.

Margaret Dudgeon b. 20 Feb 1816 is in my line, she m. Thomas Thompson from England they lived in
PA for a while them moved to Henderson, Michigan.
